The German Touring Yacht Club from Tutzing has one foot on the top step of the German championship podium. Mathematically, the direct pursuers, the Berlin Yacht Club with eleven points behind and the North German Regatta Club with 13 points, could still spoil the championship celebrations, but in practice this will be difficult. Especially if there is no wind. It was not possible to sail today due to a persistent lull, and the forecast for tomorrow is not much better.
If it sails, any place better than twelfth will be enough for the DTYC to win the championship, regardless of how well the competition sails. Things are more exciting in the lower third of the table. Three-time Olympic gold medallist Jochen Schümann is tasked with saving his club, Yachtclub Berlin-Grünau, from relegation or relegation. The Berliners are currently in 15th place, a relegation spot.
Konstanzer Yacht Club from Lake Constance and Segelklub Bayer-Uerdingen from Krefeld have already been relegated before the final. Both clubs can no longer reach the saving relegation spot (15th place). The relegation will also take place in Hamburg on 1 November.
